Le Tarot de la Muse

The Tarot of the Muse is both a game and a reflection around the relationship between creation, technique and ethics.

The starting point is a questioning of the place of technique in the creation protocol and how to give an ethical dimension to the design project. Design is a discipline that mixes creation, technique and ethics, and for me, there is an interest in pushing the exploration on how these notions intertwine to enrich my practice. This reflection takes the form of the Arcana of a Tarot deck where 22 concepts follow one another.

These Arcana relate to Technique, Creation or Ethics. One by one, they bring their answer to the question about the technique like a Muse. The Arcana have the particularity to exist both in an independent way, via the notion that they represent, but, also exist in a correlative way through the divinatory drawing. This mode of existence is ephemeral and it depends on the interpretation of the fortune-teller.

For this second aspect, the Tarot of the muse offers a manual, to play the game of divination applied to the creative project. This aspect makes each draw a unique moment and transforms this divination into a potential tool in the orientation of the project.

Le Tarot de la Muse, est à la fois un jeu et une réflexion réalisés dans le cadre d'un mémoire d'étude autour de la relation entre la création, la technique et l’éthique.

Le point de départ est une une interrogation sur la place de la technique dans le protocole de création et sous quelle forme donner une dimension éthique au projet de design. Le Design est une discipline qui mêle la création, la technique et l’éthique et pour moi, il existe un intérêt à pousser l’exploration de la façon dont ces notions s’entremêlent pour enrichir ma pratique. Cette réflexion prend la forme d'Arcanes d'un jeu de tarot où 22 notions se succèdent. 

Ces Arcanes sont relatifs à la Technique, à la Création ou à l'Éthique. Ils amènent un à un leur élément de réponse à l'interrogation sur la technique comme Muse. Les Arcanes ont une particularité, c'est qu'ils existent de manière indépendante, via la notion qu'ils représentent, mais, ils existent aussi de manière corrélative au travers du tirage divinatoire. Ce mode d'existence est éphémère et il dépend de l'interprétation du cartomancien. 

Pour ce deuxième aspect, le Tarot de la Muse propose un mode d'emploi, pour jouer le jeu de la divination appliquée au projet créatif. Cet aspect fait de chaque tirage un moment unique et transforme cette divination en un outil potentiel dans l'orientation du projet.
